Describe a positive thing a family member has done for you.

Among all the precious memories I have with my family, the most touching one is about a small but warm thing my mother did for me when I was in high school. It was a cold winter night, and I was stuck in a difficult situation that made me feel helpless and lonely, but her kindness and care lit up my dark night and gave me the strength to keep going.

At that time, I was preparing for the final exam, which was crucial for my college application. I stayed up late every night to review my lessons, and the pressure was so great that I often felt anxious and exhausted. One evening, after studying for more than four hours, I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my stomach. It was so painful that I couldn’t sit straight, and cold sweat kept rolling down my forehead. I tried to drink some hot water, but it didn’t help at all. My father was on a business trip, and I didn’t want to bother my mother, who had already been busy with housework all day. So I curled up on the chair, trying to bear the pain quietly.

However, my mother noticed my discomfort immediately. She came into my room with a cup of hot milk, and when she saw me holding my stomach and looking pale, her face was filled with worry. Without saying a word, she gently helped me lie down on the bed, covered me with a thick quilt, and then hurried to the kitchen. I thought she was going to make some porridge for me, but after a while, she came back with a hot water bag in one hand and a bowl of ginger syrup in the other. She put the hot water bag on my stomach gently, and fed me the ginger syrup spoon by spoon, which was warm and sweet, and slowly soothed the pain in my stomach.

After that, she sat by my bed and didn’t leave. She stroked my hair softly, talked to me about some interesting things in her daily life, and told me not to put too much pressure on myself. She said that no matter how well I did in the exam, she would always be proud of me. Her voice was gentle and warm, like a ray of sunshine, dispelling my anxiety and loneliness. I lay on the bed, looking at her tired face—she had woken up early in the morning to cook for me, cleaned the house all day, and now she was staying up late to take care of me. At that moment, I felt a strong sense of warmth and love, and the pain in my stomach seemed to disappear completely.

That night, my mother stayed by my side until I fell asleep. The next morning, when I woke up, I found that she had already prepared a light and delicious breakfast for me, and the hot water bag was still warm. Her care was not grand or spectacular, but it was hidden in every small detail— the warm milk, the ginger syrup, the hot water bag, and her gentle words. These small things may seem insignificant to others, but they meant the world to me.

This experience made me deeply feel the selfless love of a mother. She always puts my needs first, and silently pays for me without asking for anything in return. Her kindness not only helped me get through that difficult night but also taught me to be a warm and caring person. Whenever I encounter difficulties in life, I will think of that cold winter night and my mother’s warm care, which gives me the courage to move forward bravely. I am so grateful to have such a loving mother, and her love will always be the most precious gift in my life.
